STEPPEN was established in 1992, in order to produce corporate promotional so many kinds of plastic materials, has focused on its operations as the pen production since 1995. Being aware of the importance of industrial design in production , Steppen consists of a multi-utility model and industrial design registration hitherto.

STEPPEN which had worked with the most reputable designers İnci MUTLU and Gamze AKAY, has continued working with Ümit ALTUN by the way commercial activity has been successful in the country and abroad.

STEPPEN exports eco-friendly products to 31 various countries by advancing in Europe with sustainable eco-friendly business model and innovative structure.

STEPPEN has been an international brand with standards of certificated manufacturing on international quality - eco-friendly patented products and high quality sales services.

STEPPEN took a part subscribing United Nations Global Compact. STEPPEN has presented Progress Reports (COP) about the development process to stakeholders with this perspective.

Chronological History

• 

  2008

  In 2008, STEPPEN which has led to many areas of sector, as a result of R&D, to advance environment friendly pens, began to use PLAs. PLA is produced from cornstarch waste and dissolves within 180 days in nature. As a result of first labours on the promotional products industry, the "Life Supported Products Series" and the brand called ‘ BIOPEN’ was constituted.

  2008

  In 2008, as an indicator of concepts about environmental and social aspects, STEPPEN took a part subscribing United Nations Global Compact. STEPPEN has presented Progress Reports (COP) about the development process to stakeholders with this perspective.

  2009

  BIOPEN which is made of PLA and recycled paper, as from the day of meeting the consumers, attracted them with its eco-friendly qualifications, design and innovative features. Biopen won the Istanbul Chamber of Industry 2009 SME Eco-Friendly Product Award and has been appreciated by many institutions and organizations.

  2010

  STEPPEN ‘s investments in eco- friendly production and Manufacture Technologies, provided a permanent commercial and social cooperation. In 2010, BIOPEN which has created interest by wholesale stores chain METRO, in this way STEPPEN and METRO facilitated retail for consumers.

  2010

  In 2010, by implementing a cooperation protocol, STEPPEN donated a percentage of net sales of BIOPEN to TEMA Foundation which is one of the most respected organizations about environmental protection in Turkey.

  In 2010, industrial designer Umit Altun created “SEED PEN”, which has won awards many times hitherto. Seed Pen has been manufactured using bio-plastics and recycled paper. In order to consolidate life supporting product series, the three larch seeds were placed in a special division cover. This special design won , "Best Design Award in "Design Turkey 2010" contest "

  2011

  STEPPEN emphasized R&D efforts due to reference on products and production approach. In 2011, STEPPEN advanced biodegredable ( 1-3 year ) row material with anaerobic conditions instead of PLA and transformed all consumption (70 ton per year) to eco-friendly products.

• 

  2011

  STEPPEN obtained the innovation success from eco-friendly plastic products and in order to spread the innovation success in other product groups, STEPPEN has conducted studies to promote. As a result, STEPPEN developed the first pencil which is produced from waste newspaper. In the same year, within the environmental business model and social responsibility, STEPPEN has been selected to represent Turkey in “European Business Awards” competition in the field of environmental and corporate sustainability.

  2012

  Ongoing R&D efforts, STEPPEN added ‘BIOERASER’ to product portfolio in 2012.. The Bioeraser doesn’t contain hazardous materials and PVC.
